Rescue Boat Davits are designed in accordance with SOLAS, IMO LSA Code, and Classification Society Rules to ensure safe and rapid launching and recovery of rescue boats. Depending on vessel type, deck layout, and operational requirements, several davit types are commonly used.

1. Single Arm Rescue Boat Davit

The most commonly used rescue boat davit type.

Technical Characteristics:

  • Safe Working Load (SWL): 1.5 – 5 tons

  • Design: Single arm slewing structure

  • Operation: Hydraulic or electric

  • Rotation: Slewing outward from deck edge

  • Special Features: Launch and recovery while vessel is underway (subject to limits)

6. Gravity / Luffing Rescue Boat Davit

A simple and mechanically reliable system.

  • Operating Principle: Gravity-assisted lowering with brake control

  • Operation: Mechanical with manual backup

  • Maintenance: Minimal

Advantages:
