Telescopic Davit
Telescopic Davit is a marine launching appliance designed for the safe launching and recovery of rescue boats, fast rescue boats (FRB), and workboats. The telescopic design allows the davit boom to extend outward during operation, enabling safe clearance from the ship’s side while maintaining a compact stowed position.
The system is designed and manufactured in accordance with SOLAS, LSA Code, and relevant Classification Society rules (DNV, ABS, LR, BV).
Working Principle
telescopic davit consists of one or more extendable boom sections driven by hydraulic cylinders. During operation:
-
The boom telescopes outward to the operating position
-
The rescue boat is lifted and slewed overboard
-
Controlled lowering is performed using a winch with fail-safe braking systems
-
Recovery is achieved by reversing the sequence under full control
The system ensures smooth motion, precise positioning, and high operational safety even under adverse sea conditions.
